About Shout Our Struggle
"Rewriting the narrative of mental health recovery through storytelling, fundraising and Mental Health Response Trainings. It is our mission to cultivate healthy communities by building resilience for survivors and supporters alike."
Storytelling
By telling survivor stories, it allows others to be educated on the experience, gain ideas for their own recovery, or learn how to better support their loved ones and community. The Shout Our Struggle podcast, found on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and Google Podcasts, is one of our methods to share these mental health stories. Another method is public speaking at schools and community events, sharing Belle's mental health journey. Both methods allow us to not just share our stories, but also increase literacy through evidence-based prevention strategies.
Fundraising
There are many great organizations working to provide resources and education to our communities. At Shout Our Struggle, one of our greatest priorities is ensuring that these organizations can continue their work with proper funding. We have fundraised for organizations such as Mental Health America, the Mental Health Association in New Jersey, and The Loveland Foundation. We are working to grow these efforts, specifically to fund Mental Health Trainings throughout the state of New Jersey.

Mental Health First Aid
To improve the Mental Health Crisis, we need to more than just talk about the problems. We need to provide actionable solutions. Mental Health First Aid Training equips community members with the tools to identify and respond to a mental health challenge in their loved ones and neighbors. SOS Founder, Isabelle Nicholas, is a certified instructor and works alongside the Mental Health Association to roll out these trainings across the state of New Jersey.
